Key Definitions

• ASBL (Association Sans But Lucratif): the French term for a nonprofit association. This is the most common legal form for associations in Belgium.
• VZW (Vereniging Zonder Winstoogmerk): the same concept in Dutch.
• VoG (Vereinigung ohne Gewinnerzielungsabsicht): the same concept in German.
• Enterprise number: a unique number assigned by the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises (BCE/KBO). Every nonprofit has one, in the format BE 0xxx.xxx.xxx.
• Registered office: the official address of your nonprofit, as registered with the BCE/KBO.
• Legal form: the type of entity — ASBL (VZW in Dutch, VoG in German).

Create an Organization

1. From your dashboard, click New Organization.
2. Fill in the required information:
   • Association name (full name and abbreviated name)
   • Enterprise number in the format BE 0xxx.xxx.xxx
   • Legal form — ASBL (VZW in Dutch, VoG in German)
   • Registered office: full address with a Belgian postal code
3. Click Create.

Edit an Organization

From the organization detail page, you can update:

The editing panel lets you modify: name, abbreviation, enterprise number, legal form, registered office, email, website, and advanced options (limited duration, billing address, foreign entity details).

Delete an Organization

Deletion is a soft delete: data is marked as deleted but remains stored in the database (it is not destroyed). Click the Delete button at the top of the organization page and confirm.
